Your itinerary:

Day 1: Windhoek Hosea Kutako International airport - arrival


  • Arrival at the Hosea Kutako International airport;

  • Meet and greet with your guide;

  • Transfer to the car rental company to take the vehicles, then drive to Moonraker lodge;

  • Welcome cocktail at the lodge and introduction by your instructor;

  • Lunch for early arrivals (before 12h00);

  • Welcome dinner around the campfire at the lodge;

Day 2: Windhoek – Etosha National park area

​

  • Drive to Windhoek, with a short city tour;

  • First leg on tarred road onto your lodge near Etosha park;

  • Lunch at the lodge, relax at the swimming pool;

  • Afternoon first game drives into Etosha Park, in your rented vehicle;

  • Dinner at the lodge.

Day 3: Etosha National Park – Nakambale at Olukonda


  • Early departure with game drive through the park;

  • Stop at one of the camps inside the park, for lunch and a short siesta;

  • Further game drive towards King Nehale Gate;

  • Exit park and drive through local villages towards Nakambale;

  • Dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Nakambale


  • Explore the surroundings with a local guide;

  • Visits to the Museum and a traditional “kraal”;

  • Sundowner and a drink at a ‘shebeen’;

  • Dinner at the lodge.

Day 5: Nakambale – Rundu / Okavango River


  • Take smaller back roads towards the Okavango River;

  • Packed lunch along the route;

Day 6: Okavango River

  • Morning visit to the Mbunza Living Museum;

  • Lunch at the lodge;

Day 7: Rundu – Shakawe /Botswana

​

  • Drive through western Caprivi along the Okavango towards Divundu;

  • Stop for a picnic lunch at the Popa Falls;

  • Border crossing into Botswana, drive towards Shakawe and onto the lodge.Lodge situated along the Okavango panhandle.

  • Dinner at the lodge, freshly prepared on an open fire.

Day 8: Shakawe / Tsodillo Hills day trip


  • A rather bumpy road takes you towards Tsodilo Hills – a heritage site;

  • Explore and hike through the hills, with a local guide;

  • Enjoy lunch under a big shady tree;

  • Back at the lodge, enjoy the amenities and the pool;

  • Sundowner boat cruise in the Okavango panhandle;

  • Dinner at the lodge, freshly prepared on an open fire.

Day 9: Shakawe – Kwando River / Zambezi Region


  • Early departure with border crossing back into Namibia;

  • Drive through Caprivi and Zambezi region; This is a wildlife migration area – beware of Elephants crossing the road;

  • Lunch at the lodge;

  • PM boat cruise on the Kwando River;

  • Dinner at the lodge, freshly prepared on the open fire.
